Non Club Member Temporary Membership Formalities

ENTRANCE FEE: 50,000 TShs per participants.
JUNIOR'S ENTRANCE FEE: 25,000 TShs per each competing day. Entrance fees not refundable, after the closing of Registrations.

ENTRY
    Skippers must register their boats and all Anglers by recording details on the official registration form on the Notice Board and on www.lathamopen.com Entry Form, no later than 18h00 Mon, 13th September 2010.
    Entrance Fee: 50,000 TShs per participants.
    Junior's Entrance Fee: 25,000 TShs per each competing day.
    All Entrance Fees should be paid at the Office to our Assistant Manager Miss Judy Okoth before 18h00 13th September 2010.
    No Entries or changes will be accepted after this time.
    All Junior's Parents MUST sign an indemnity form prior to the competition or their Children's Entry will not qualify. You can find the Indemnity form at the Office, please ask to DYC Assistant Manager, Miss Judy Okoth or to Dimitra.

    All Entrance fees are not refundable.

RULES
    1. The competition will be run in accordance with IGFA rules but with these additional rules:
    2. Trolling with Lures or Live/Dead Bait only. No Jigging, no popping, no casting and retrieving, no bottom fishing.
      Metal jigs, bucktails, dropshots are not allowed.
    3. A maximum of 4 adult anglers per boat. A maximum of 6 anglers (Adults plus Juniors) per boat. A minimum of 2 Anglers per boat. A Junior Angler is anyone under the age of 17 years old at the close of official registration.
    4. A maximum of two rods per Angler at any time. A maximum of 6 lines per boat in the water at any time. Extra lines without hooks may be trailed.
    5. On each Junior's boat there must be an Adult Member. An Adult Member Is a person of 18 years old and over.
    6. Fri 17th Sept, all boats to reach within a radius of 5 nautical miles from Latham Island not earlier than 05h30.
    7. Fri 17th Sept, lines in at 06h00 within a radius of 5 nautical miles of Latham Island.
    8. Fri 17th Sept, lines out at 17h00. All boats to leave from Latham Island within 5 minutes from lines out. All boats must be at Sinda Island within the boat anchorage area no later than 20h00. Any boat that is not at Sinda anchorage area at 20h00 will be disqualified for the day unless the delay is exclusively caused by rendering emergency assistance to another boat, in which case they are to immediately notify the Organizing Committee.
    9. Sat 18th Sept, all boats to reach within a radius of 5 nautical miles from Latham Island not earlier than 05h30.
    10. Sat 18th Sept, lines in at 06h00 within a radius of 5 nautical miles of Latham Island.
    11. Sat 18th Sept, lines out at 16h00. All boats to leave from Latham Island within 5 minutes from lines out. All boats must be at Sinda Island within the anchorage area no later than 18h30. Any boat that is not at Sinda anchorage area at 18h30 will be disqualified for the day unless the delay is Exclusively caused by rendering assistance to another boat, in which case they are to immediately notify the Organizing Committee.
    12. An appointed referee will observe the finish by GPS time. His/her decision is final.
    13. Any protest must be made in writing to the Fishing Secretary within one hour of the finish time at Sinda. No protest will be taken into consideration after the deadline.
    14. Protest fee: 100.000 Tshs, refundable if the protest is found valid. (All fees and penalties go to charity).

BY-RULES
    1. Boats are required to keep VHF Channel 9 watch.
    2. Boats MUST report their catch every two hours or when called upon by Organizing Committee, on channel 9.
    3. Boats are required to keep a minimum of 200 yards distance from another boat.
    4. Boats are required to keep a minimum of 500 yards distance from any other boat hooked up.
    5. Boats are required to report boat name on channel 9 when crossing the finishing line and ensure they are registered as signed in.
    6. Fri 17th Sept: The weigh in will start from 18:00 hrs.
    7. Sat 18th Sept: The weigh in will start from 17:00 hrs.
    8. For identification purposes, fish are tagged and the prepared weigh sheets handed to the weigh master when presenting the fish for weighing in. Untagged fish will be disqualified.
    9. Skippers or their nominated representatives are responsible for the boat catch before, during and after the weigh in.
    10. Every day, each boat should donate 30 kg of fish, part of which will be used for the BBQ during the Competition; the remaining fish will be given for Charity.
    11. A dated / timed stamped photograph or video of the actual fish being billed or tagged is required to document any release of billfish. In the photograph/video next to the billed/tagged fish, the ID Card provided by the Fishing Committee, should be clearly visible.
    12. Every boat must notify the nearest boat as soon as they are hooked up with a billfish.

Fish equal or over their minimum size:
Mako, Sailfish 3 points / kg
Marlin, Broadbill, Spearfish 4 points / kg
Fish below the minimum size IF landed IF released
Sailfish below 30 kg 1 point / kg 90 points.
Marlin below 100 kg 1 point / kg 400 points.
Broadbill below 25kg 1 point / kg 100 points.
Spearfish below 15kg 1 point / kg 60 points.
Other Points / Penalties
Any Fish under 80 cm fork length minus 2 pts/kg
Any Shark (except Mako) minus 2 pts/kg
Reef Species, Snappers, Groupers, Bass, Trevallies, Dogtooth minus 2 pts/kg
All other IGFA PELAGIC SPECIES 1 point / kg

In conjunction with the Latham Open Fishing Competition, there will be a Junior Fishing Competition

The Same Rules as per the Latham Open Fishing Competition will apply, but with these different Rules:
E. Only one day per Junior will count: the best one.

Juniors and their catches can qualify as well in the Latham Open Fishing Competition.
In which case, only Rules and all Points/Penalties of the Latham Open Fishing Competition will apply.

In conjunction with the Latham Open Fishing Competition, there will be a Yacht Fishing Competition

F. Sat 1st October 2011 - Lines in at 06h00 any where in the South Zanzibar Channel.
G) Sat 1st October 2011 - Lines out at 16h00.

Yacht and their catches can qualify as well in the Latham Open Fishing Competition.
In which case, only Rules and all Points/Penalties of the Latham Open Fishing Competition will apply.

SAFETY

All boats that are powered with a single engine must bring along an auxiliary engine for safety reasons or their entry will be void. All boats must have a working VHF and others safety equipment.
